Organizations - Professional Organizations Since 1996 the AACCI's vision has been : "To be a peak representative body of Asian business, by working together to create strategic alliances and by establishing a deeper trust and friendship across the different cultural regions." The AACCI can provide business matching, business intelligence, business development services, and trade mission and event management and most importantly is able act as an entry point / conduit for South Australian and other interest groups looking for long term business opportunities in Asia. The AACCI is the only business organisation in South Australia which represents all of Asia. The AACCI has supported the arts and we have curatored a variety of multicultural and community focused art exhibitions, internationally acclaimed dance and theatre performance that have including Red Poppy, the Yalong Tibetan Song and Dance Troupe and the Guiyang Acrobatic Troupe. The AACCI has been a “catalyst” for fundraising activities and events for wider causes outside our local community that have included the Sichuan Earthquake Appeal, the Guangdong Flood Victims Appeal, The Premiers Olympic Games Appeal and the South East Asian Tsunami Appeal. History of the AACCI 6th November 1996, the AACCI was incorporated by the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Attorney General's Department. The public launch took place at Parliament House on 20th November 1996, officiated by the Hon. Graham Ingerson, MP. The following excerpt from the South Australian Government on the occassion of the AACCI's launch: "I welcome this initiative as a way of increasing South Australia's opportunities of networking with Asia. The new Chamber has a very clear mission and objectives. The Government will work closely with the Australian Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to increase trade and investment with the region. I encourage the Chamber to liaise with existing Chambers in order that our business community and ocerseas partners fully benefit from South Australia's economic development parameters." In 1997 Sir Eric Neal AC CVO ( former Governor of South Australia) and the Hon. Mike Rann ( current Premier of South Australia and President of the Labor Party) became patrons of the AACCI.
